Narrative Writer and Lore Master


  • Work with Chief Producer and IP Creator to create a consistent narrative vision for game universes, characters and the plot lines for the specific game story being told
  • Identify key narrative pillars and arbitrate narrative vision throughout game creation
  • Research backgrounds of locales, peoples and cultures encompassed by the game and denizens thereof
  • Establish narrative goals for the protagonists and antagonists
  • Develop unique voices and personal motivations for characters that will be introduced over the course of the game
  • Manage core story and dialogue creation, both through individual contribution and directing Writers and Narrative Designers towards its creation
  • Work with designers and programmers to implement compelling narrative and cinematic moments in the game
  • Build upon candid input and feedback from key stakeholders such as Chief Producer, Project Director and, where applicable, IP holders
  • Develop and support extra-game IP, dialogue, and narrative needs for internal or external presentations and marketing materials, including online and on-camera interviews and Q&As
  • Work with the Chief Marketing Officer and Chief Producer to drive casting, VO and performance capture sessions
  • Provide feedback during VO and performance captures sessions to adhere to narrative vision
  • Expand content strategy and draw roadmap for deliverables, maintaining a clear line of communication and updates across all internal stakeholders to keep on track
  • Work with Art Director to create a consistent visual style for the story, world and character
  • Partner closely with design, tech and other departments to ensure an efficient and effective game development process
  • Demonstrate familiarity with myths from ancient texts in Latin or Old English source material in order to generate new characters and stories


  • Master’s degree or above and/or major/minor combination in Narrative game design, Creative Media, Literature, Global Studies, or related fields.
  • Professional writing and oral skills in both English and Chinese a must, other languages an asset. Familiarity with authentic spoken and written North American English and Chinese is preferred.
  • Demonstrable experience in worldbuilding, as well as in meaningful game narrative construction and design.
  • Experience in generating emotionally impactful characters. 
  • Familiarity with the video game industry, and in particular, the development of video game lore (e.g. for highly developed settings such as Mass Effect, World of Warcraft, etc.).
  • Deep knowledge of Western history and mythology and preferably source material e.g. Snorri Sturluson’s Prose Edda. Translation of myths from Latin, Old English and other dead languages preferred. 
  • Previous work experience with reputable overseas and Chinese organizations is highly preferred.
  • Passion for sci-fi, military, post-apocalyptic, and mecha themed works, such as Gundam or A Canticle for Leibowitz
  • Interest/passion for Acid Rain World.
  • Excellent communication skills with an ability to clearly convey and translate concepts into narrative design
  • Proven experience constructing immersive worlds and strong, complex characters.
  • Ability to work both independently on assignments and as part of a multicultural team in a high-pressure environment.

Spine Animator


  • Work closely with the game team to produce high quality spine animations for in-game art assets and promotion materials
  • Create finalized animations of characters, creatures or mech, using Spine.
  • Clean-up, paint-over, modify and disassemble the original 2D game assets, so that they can be used for spine animation.
  • Bring liveliness to the animation by VFX, or Shaders in Unity.
  • Brainstorm and collaborate innovative ideas with the team.
  • Close collaboration with the Art Director to work on the visual development of the animated elements.


  • Degree / Diploma holder in Graphic Design / Multimedia Design / Animation, or related subject. Fresh Graduate is also welcomed!
  • Proficient in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Spine, and other equivalent design tools.
  • Good understanding of animation principles (timing, anticipation, squash and stretch, overlapping, secondary action etc)
  • Digital painting skills, ability to fill-up the missing part not shown in the original artwork.
  • Self-motivated, independent and responsible.
  • Willing to listen, learn and improve.

Additional Skills (Pluses):

  • Knowledge of Unity, particle system/VFX graph/shader graph
  • Knowledge in 3D or motion graphics
